This was the start of a real journey for many of the 70 students who participated in this three-day programme, as an assignment on their vocational courses. From Beauty Therapy to Art and Media, from Performing Arts to Music Technology, the ideas flowed creatively – and the students experienced activities which helped them develop not just the ideas but also their personal and enterprise skills. The winning seven businesses were invited to develop their plans ready to bid to a panel of leading entrepreneurs for real investment money a month later ……..

Seventy Year 12s, drawn from 30 schools from City Challenge Areas in Greater Manchester, London and the Black Country, came together for an amazing week’s residential summer school. They worked on challenges set by London Underground, National Physical Laboratory and Garlik…..
As they faced their final year at school, 120 of the brightest students from the independent and state sector in Croydon created advertising businesses to respond to socially based business problems set by third sector businesses, in ‘Classroom to Boardroom’
